Parent's Anniversary '12

My parents &; I headed to The Chub's Grill for dinner tonight. Treated my parent's for dinner at this new grill joint as it was our first visit and to celebrate my parent's 20+ years anniversaries, glad it did not disappoint at all. The food was good and portion was reasonable, in general but I really liked my mum's Grilled Salmon priced at MYR 45 for a full platter, I ordered the Grilled Lamb Shoulder ; MYR 25 and my dad ordered the Grilled Pork Belly ; MYR 25 which both are their Chef's specialties. The grills generally have a satay sauce taste to it but when the meat is in your mouth, it tasted different - more grill flavors in it. Though I think it lacked a bit of the charcoal grilled flavor but its alright, many of you don't fancy that kind of flavor anyways.

As for drinks, we each ordered their signature chilled drinks - Chilled Mango, Kiwi & Peach. Priced at MYR 5 each, these light and easy to consume drinks are considered reasonable as they include a generous portion of yogurt pearls inside and it is definitely something new for the locals here, as I've not seen much of this type of pearls in Malaysia except when I was in Kuala Lumpur. Definitely worth the try!

After Two Years,

Today was spent lazing around the city with Mary, Leslie and Shaun who came visiting all the way from NZ! The last time we met was 2 years ago, back in KL? Time really flies , good and bad to this. I'm only back today just for a short post, thus its picture time!

Summer in Bangkok !

Back in May, the boyfriend , friends & ; I headed to Bangkok for a short summer vacation. Explored around with lots of foods and sight-seeing. What I loved the most about Bangkok is that, it has so much to offer, regardless of food , sight-seeing or even shopping. Everything was just so unique and colorful if you actually dare to take the time and explore these places which are usually out of the city itself, just by using their public transports. Thus, this was whats on the plan throughout this trip. Well, its not my first time in Thailand but I can tell you that its always different being in the city itself and exploring places outside the city. Its way interesting and we really enjoyed our trip. Neither did we knew much about the transportation system around in Bangkok apart from its train system and cab but we made it to other parts of Thailand and that satisfaction you get when you get to explore other places using all sorts of different transportation and its all within your budget :)

First day upon reaching, we headed to Chatuchak market which is a place where they always sells cheap and reasonably priced goods and a heaven for affordable food :D went there to shop for a bit since its the weekend and Chatuchak only opens during the weekend, managed to try the unique foods available there aka that's the pink color pressured ice-cream from Japan, but its also available in Singapore since I saw it there :). It pops out the moment you cut the tube and it keeps flowing out non-stop until you see a small plastic tube inside; and the sweet potato balls was so tangy I love em' so much. I did not enjoy the white color coconut dessert as the taste of the coconut , very really different. More like a roast coconut dessert and imagine how weird the taste would be as coconut is supposed to be all sweet and milky but adding a roast burnt taste to it is totally, killing it.

As for dinner, we researched on the internet that one of the best place that offers good authentic Thailand food is Cabbages & ; Condoms. I know as cliche as it can be for its name, this place actually offers really awesome and authentic thai food compared to those I've tried before. This place was built because it supposed to be a restaurant which serves food with a motive of educating the younger generations of practicing safe sex thus they actually sells various sex related souvenirs and also offering condoms instead of mints to the guests. They even have human size figurines all around this place with condoms covering them as added presentation. Oh, totally must try out their food here, especially the Grilled Pork Neck was our favorite among the rest. Price wise, it is quite reasonable for a restaurant. Highly recommended place to be and I will always go back there if I have the chance to someday.

On the second day, we headed to the Southern bus terminal to explore the floating market in Thailand. The most famous floating market which is the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market was a merely 2.5 hours journey away from Bangkok city itself. The ticket costs us approximately RM20 (200 baht) per person both ways.

Upon reaching Damnoen Saduak, the bus driver dropped us off at a place where you can charter a boat to explore the floating market. We paid about RM80 for 2 person (800 baht) as we chartered the entire boat to ourselves for about an hour after bargaining. The price was higher but it is advisable to bargain as much as you can and be there as early as 9am to get to explore the place at its best as anything later than that will delay your journey as there will be more boats and jams along the river. Well, what we experienced there was basically seeing people selling fruits and clothes on board the little small boats and tasting food but some things here are overpriced as it is a tourist visiting area, thus always remember to bargain each time you want to purchase anything- even food items! Oh, you can also pay in RM if you ran out of thai baht because their money changer is really limited. I love how colorful everything is over there, totally an eye opening experience and we tried the fish noodle and the famous glutinous rice and mango. I really enjoyed eating the mini sized coconut pancake served on a banana boat leaf, and it was cheap! RM 2 (20 baht) for 8 pieces :D and saddest and yet funny thing was we ran out of cash by the time we needed to pay for a bowl of RM 5 (50 baht) noodle just because we did not change and expect to use so much more thus we got freaked out for a little bit there until we found the money changers, and luckily a bank at such remote area :D never imagine that we can be that broke during the second day of our trip but nevertheless that's what makes this trip more fun and memorable.

We took so much of the public transports available there that I think we actually took every single transport available there in just four days. Since we headed to Damnoen Saduak earlier in the day for a half day visit, we came back to exploring the street markets nearby our hotel by the road side which sell delicious yet super cheap food for our dinner. Our favorite got to be the bird egg and soy sauce pancake roll which was only RM2 (20 baht) for about 6 pieces. As an additional things, we got pork legs and some vegetables and other stuffs from the food stalls that cost us only about RM10 (100 baht). Unbelievable.

Later in the evening, we walked merely 5 minutes to a nearby mall which has a unique theme - Haunted Mansion 7. Actually this place was newly opened, and a disappointment to me because I was hoping for it to be a huge shopping mall but it was actually just a factory size mall with a haunted house and some arcade games, restaurants with few clothes boutiques in it. However, since the theme made it unique and special so we end up taking lots of haunted scary pictures and no, we did not went into the haunted house because I was a ~~chicken~~ girl with no guts :D the boyfriend thought we should head to the pub and get us some alcohol drinks and by then I will be daring enough to go in but heck no, I was still the same before drinking and then we left. Oh well, teehee.

The very next day, we headed to the Sai Tai Mai bus terminal and purchased our ticket to Hua Hin. Interestingly, our cab driver dropped us off at the wrong bus terminal and we end up paying extra cab fare to get to the right bus terminal. It got our mood really down because it was annoying how the people there doesn't understand English. We went to the nearest 7-11 and bought our breakfast to be consume during the trip. Those croissants and puffs are fresh and relatively cheap we had like 4 pieces each. Our bus moved around 9am and we reached Hua Hin after a 3.5 hours ride. This time, we were really lucky because we do not know where the bus will stop so I was just keeping an eye all the time on our whereabouts while the boyfriend was asleep. At one point, I woke up and was looking coincidentally at the place we wanted to visit and immediately we alight. We visited Plearnwan, which was located just right beside the opposite road .

Plearnwan is a place with an old vintage theme to it. What a good place to relive the old times.It's like a small shopping areas featuring lots of vintage items and of course in a unique setting. Seeing shops that sells old vintage items mixed with the relatively modern items, and the things there instantly brings us back to the fond memories as a little kid buying cheap snacks from the little van who visits our neighborhood, and also having stalls that sells candies and bubble pop bottles and more; we couldn't help but was so amazed that some things still exists since our childhood and being sold there.

Food was unique but not exactly reasonable. It is a tourist place after all. We had fish noodles that costs RM5 (50 baht) and the round rice ball thingy that is not-so-nice and I loved that blue and transparent white wrapped up dim sum kinda thing, don't know what they called it in Thailand but its filling was the sweet peanut sauce which was to die for and it only costs RM2 (20 baht)! They had this little ferries wheel that we thought we could sit on but it was closed since forever. Oh, and if you're looking for souvenirs this place offers a variety of unique souvenirs such as the dried / fried chili items like the soft shell baby crabs that we bought or sweet items like coconut candies that tasted like candle wax to me :/

Later in the evening, we were supposed to get a ride back to Bangkok. So we waited by the road side to get a tuk tuk because there were no cabs to the bus station and we couldn't get any until we walked for about 10 minutes to a place where there is a police guarding some house and sought help. He flagged us a tuk tuk within minutes and managed to ask the driver to drop us at the bus station. The bus station is actually an old shop which has only a counter for selling tickets and a few rows of chairs to sit. It's kinda creepy if you ask me but at this point, we totally bought it seeing its a small town , what to expect? I forgot how much was the tickets but I know we ran out of cash as we overspent at Hua Hin buying souvenirs and food tasting again :p had to wait till about 8pm till the money changer reopens. Again reminder; keeping to your budget is important! Since we had like 2 hours to spare while waiting for the money changer to reopen, we end up exploring what Hua Hin night market has to offer. It was like a night market selling what Chatuchak sells, at a higher price as it is a tourist destination after all. Had awesome dinner at one of the shops there, very hearty authentic thai meal yet again, it was really cheap and delicious. I finally get to try out my Nutella crepe cake which I wanted to try out since earlier of this year when I was in France but didn't get to because I got freaked out when the person before me's crepe cake got burnt right in front of our eyes , and I don't trust them to make my crepe cake anymore. However, this did not disappoint at all, tasted fan-ta-bu-lous and it only costs RM3.50 (350 baht)!

There's the handmade heart shape lollipop and the handmade wooden key-chain the boyfriend got us as a souvenir for ourselves from Hua Hin. He got me the bubble pop thingy too so I can blow bubbles, just like a kid again ;D

On the last day, we signed up for tours visit to various temples around Bangkok city. Our driver came to the hotel and fetched us to the first temple we went to which was the Wat Traimit Wittayaram, and met up with our tour guide. I couldn't recall her name. She was a friendly lady, quite talkative and a very curious type of person, but she was very informative.Wat Traimit Wittayaram attracts tourists because of its Golden Buddha which is the largest golden Buddha image in the world and it was made with pure gold weighing 5 tonnes! She took us to Wat Pho which is the largest temple in Bangkok to witness the famed gold plated reclining Buddha measured 46 meters long and covered in gold leaf. Another uniqueness of the Buddha is that its legs are made of mother of pearls. Really unique and interesting to look at it just right in front of your eyes. Did a little donation as we are grateful for the things we have and how smoothly our holidays end up at the temple where the boyfriend bought me a bowl of coins and asked me to toss it into the stretch long of bowls along our way and recite what I'm thankful for. It was fun. There was this 12 animals donation box too, and we don't know what is it for but we donated to our animal sign anyways - the Snake.

I managed to try the famous coconut ice-cream outside of Wat Pho as the weather was really humid. The uncle was really generous with the toppings and ice cream that I cannot get enough of the ice cream in my mouth. After all that Golden Buddha sight-seeing, our tour guide took us to a few factories for sight-seeing and shopping but obviously we could not afford anything from there but since she insisted us to go along with the plans as it was complimentary from the tourism board of Thailand, we went along and visited a few places, like the famous jewel factories, famous cloth factory and antique shop. Which reminds me a lot about China, where they often brings you around to places like this whenever you're on a tour and in hope that you'll buy something back as souvenirs.

Finally after all the visiting, our driver sent us back to the hotel where we redeemed ourselves a 15 minute complimentary massage from the hotel. Just what we needed to complete this wonderful vacation. Upon checking out, we headed to a nearby huge shopping mall called Esplanade where we got to try out the McDonald's pork burger which is not available here in Malaysia / Singapore. It was not as good as how we expected the patty to be but it is still edible and acceptable. Lastly, we tried also the popcorn from the cinema. Why popcorn of all things? because it is a coconut flavored popcorn with real coconut shredding inside and it tasted so good I can't even describe it. I technically, finished up the whole thing and the boyfriend only managed to have few bites of it ;D

Well, this wrapped up how we spent our amazing short summer vacation in Bangkok this year. Till Then !

an early Christmas present from the Boyfriend :D

According to him,

he has been wanting to get me one since forever because the Apple earphone I used previously has no mic,

and it absorbs all the noisy background sound so its kinda annoying.

It got me wondered how he stand the noise all these while.

I can't even stand annoying sound more than 2 seconds.

Oh well :)

we both are happy after trying it out this afternoon through all the annoying updates from my parts,

finally it works well and improved the sound quality :D

Forlino Restaurant Sunday Brunch @ One Fullerton

That Sunday morning was a lovely laid-back Sunday and also the day we bid each other adios. Just perfect to how I would want to spend my weekends, just chilling and relaxing even if it meant just doing something simple. Bryan and I had breakfast at Burger King. No idea why we had burger king that morning, but just merely after 1 hour of burger king we had brunch at Forlino with my sister and Alan. Imagine how much we both can eat!

Forlino is a classic Italian fine dining restaurant that is located at One Fullerton, or better known as the Fullerton Hotel Building just across Marina Bay Sands which has the most awesome-st view of the iconic Esplanade building, Singapore City Center and of course the Singapore Flyer.

The Forlino restaurant seats only 80 persons and it's chef Patron Mario Caramella is the pioneer to his signature style of cuisine which combines classical Italian flavors and ingredients with contemporary presentations and modern cooking techniques. He focuses on bringing the "timeless" appeal of his homeland cooking to the world. - by means food that undergone intense preparation and of highest quality and to be partaken only on special occasions as an integral to a memorable meal.

Indeed, the food did not disappoint at all.

First to serve on the table was,

I love how the texture looked like, golden and crispy yet fresh, bread.

Next came our appetizers which consists of the ever oh so delicious ;

Pan Roasted Goose Liver with Apricot Sauce - better known as Foie Gras

3-Years Old Finest Parma Ham with Cantaloupe Melon

Blue Crab Tomato Salad with Champagne Vinegar

Tagliolini with Cod, Chilli and Turnip Tops

Crispy Fried Prawns and Calamari

I love the Foie Gras the most among all, its like the best thing I ever had in my mouth. It just melts inside your mouth the moment its in your mouth I can't even describe it.

I enjoyed the Parma Ham and Crispy Fried Prawns and Calamari but to me it ain't anything really different from what I have tasted before.

I did not like Blue crab tomato salad with champagne vinegar because I just dislike vegetable salad but I tried the crab and it was good too! :)

The tagliolini with Cod, Chili and Turnip Tops was served in a different plate. It was a different kind of pasta among many other pastas that I had tasted because the taste is unlike the usual pastas sauce but rather the ingredients gave the sauce a rather special taste that is unexplainable. I remembered my sis enjoyed it so much she finished up the remaining asparagus on the platter :P

next came our main courses , which consists of

Pan Roasted Halibut Filet with Fennel and Citrus Sauce

I had this and to me the first impression when I looked at it its just like a piece of salted fish being served on my platter but do not let it underestimate its specialty. The Halibut Filet was pan roasted until it has the texture of golden yellow crisp and yet the flesh was still soft and easy in the mouth.

Crisp Duck Leg with Caramelized Shallots and Marsala Wine Sauce

Had bites of the Crisp Duck Leg and the meat was unimaginably soft and tender its so easy to eat and of course the sauce matches the duck leg perfectly as wine sauce are always a good match to meat items.

Wagyu Beef Cheek with Red Wine and Aromatic Potato Mash

Among all the main course, I would highlight the Wagyu beef and reckon is it the best among all that we ordered. Bryan gave me pieces of it and it was our first time having it and I seriously had not idea how tender was a wagyu beef until I got to try it myself and now I truly understand why cows are treated so well just so they are able to produce super tender yet juicy meat. Not to mention, how the marble fats doesn't even give you the goo-ey feeling when you chew it. Now I understand why people would pay such a high price just for such a small piece of this heavenly meat to be serve on their platter.

For desserts, we had their signature dessert which is the

Molten Lava Chocolate Cake with Banana Gelato and Rum Sauce

I cannot help it with I see the chocolate melts out of its shell like a lava and quickly put it into my mouth as I felt the warm chocolate melting on my tongue. To mix with the Banana Gelato which tasted like vanilla and the rum sauce just explains why this is their signature dessert.

Chiacchiere was served with coffee and tea after that :)

Largest Observation Wheel - The Singapore Flyer

Bryan came down for just a short visit/transit last Saturday. That night we headed to the largest observation wheel in the world - The Singapore Flyer , seriously it is bigger than the London Eye. The view up there was superb breathtaking. Tickets can be purchased online or via the booth counter available there and opt to print it yourself or collect it there. It costs $29.50 per person and we were given a $16 food voucher to use at the food court "Food Trail", thus we decided to just have dinner there after our ride . Since we went up around 9pm, the queue was considered short :/ and the ride took us 30 minutes for a complete circle. The nearest MRT station to get there would be Promenade which is at the yellow line and then you'll have to exit at exit A.

The view was superbly amazing, and of course the experience of being up there was so different compared to being on the Eye of Malaysia. The observation wheel was more solid build and no one should be afraid of getting up there because its very safe :P ( exception unless if you're afraid of heights teehee). I remembered feeling a little scared going up on the Eye of Malaysia but not this :S

Food Trail's Sugar Cane with Sliced Lemon drink, Fried Oyster Omelette, and Bak Kut Teh. Well, basically this place has a lot of local Chinese foods and it has the theme of the 1920's ambiance to it. Perfect for people who loves to reminisce back to things in the past. Though it's a bit pricier but that just cause its a tourist attraction area.

Paris, The City of Love - SightSeeing - Palais Garnier

The next place we visited was the Palais Garnier.
On the way there, we stopped by a drug store and it captured my eyes as their drug stores are all decorated with neon lights signboards unlike what we see in Malaysia where neon lights signboards are normally used for entertainment places such as clubs.

The Palais Garnier also known as the Opéra de Paris or Opéra Garnier.

It is actually a 1,600 seats opera house that was designed by Charles Garnier and was regarded as a masterpiece of its time.

Using our student cards to purchase the ticket, it costs us 5 euro which is about RM21 for entrance fee.

The interior of the many places inside the opera house. I just love how everything looked so grand and I love how the architecture look so neatly done and thoughts of perfections were given to it the moment it was built and well preserved till this day.

I absolutely love this place because it was my first time actually visiting an actual opera house and initially I thought this place was a museum. Look at the picture below this, these are actually doors to individual balcony rooms and each room can cater up to 6 persons with velvet-ish walls. Classic.

Lots and lots of beautiful chandeliers hanging on the ceiling which makes up the grand feeling when you're inside. Not to mention, the very artistic paintings surrounding the entire building.

This is actually the view from the main balcony of the opera house. Overlooking the city. The feeling when you stood up there is how you will feel as a pope, waving to thousands of people at St. Peter Square. But for this, you actually wave to the locals here and they are the ones that try to get your attention so you will take their pictures from above.

The interior.

This building actually served as the principal venue of the Parisian Opera and Ballet since its open. Thus, this explains why they have a gift shop that is totally dedicated to ballet dancers selling the outfits, shoes, books, cd, keychains and many more other ballet related items inside.

After that, we continued our journey just shopping around Paris's famous shopping area , the Champ Elysees and visited the Arch De Triomphe. Fret not, more pictures coming in the next post.

PARIS, THE CITY OF LOVE - SIGHTSEEING - LOUVRE

4th post on Paris.

Located at the heart of Paris is the Louvre. It is originally built as a 12th century fortress and then converted to a royal palace in the 14th century and now it is one of the largest and most visited museum in the whole world.

This place housed about 35,000 objects on display, all spread out around the palace which was divided into 3 main wings.

The glass pyramid originally received mixed review as it contrasts with the original classical design of the surrounding buildings but then it was considered as a good solution as to giving the museum a huge central entrance without the need to touch the historic patrimony.

Well, actually the main attraction here mainly is because of the Glass Pyramid which was the latest addition to this prestigious museum. This pyramid was built in 1989 ( exactly the same year as I was born :P ) but yet it still looked so good as it is so well maintained. The pyramid is actually the entrance door to the museum.

Just look at the amount of people queuing, dying to get in the museum everyday is enough to make you not want to go in and visit the museum unless you have 24 hours to spare just for this museum. This is not even half of the queue yet :/ thus we ended up just snapping pictures outside of the pyramid instead of going in the museum itself.

After the Louvre, we had our brunch at a nearby restaurant. This restaurant serves the typical French cuisines you can find anywhere in France, but unlike the restaurants and some places in France, this restaurant allow us to take picture of their food and the owners were very friendly and efficient in their service.

I had fish the other day and it was really good. Tasted the French union soup and it was uber-delicious, unlike those you often get here, which always is diluted and tasteless.

Remember I was saying that transport is very efficient in Paris? You can rent public bicycles everywhere and need not to worry you won't get any because they have tons of it and is often lined up by the road side.

Paris, The City of Love - SightSeeing - Fountaine St.Michel and Notre Dame

So my second post on Paris will be on Notre Dame.

Also known to the French as "Our Lady of Paris"

Prior to reaching Notre Dame, we were just walking around streets and snapping pictures randomly.

And I love how almost, each and every memorable monuments are "almost" close to one another.

By "almost" I meant by some, not all. Some requires longer walks and you'll need to take other transportation.

I especially love the designs of their cafes, often in a classic old building, with outdoor patio where one can just sit, chill and relax while taking a break from the hustle and bustle life of the busy city.

Motorcycles are everywhere, which is why traffic jam is not an issue in Paris. Transportations there are so efficient, and they also have public bicycles for rent. Pictures will be in the next post :)

Then, at the heart of Quartier Latin, the Place-St. Michel is a famous Paris landmark that you'll see. There is a fountain ( Fontaine Saint Michel ) in the center of the square and it was created by a French sculptor , Gabriel Davioud back in 1860. This landmark basically represents Saint Micheal, the protector of France slaying a dragon.

Originally, the fountain central's statue supposed to be of Napoleon Bonaparte but it received criticism from some of the opponents thus it was then changed to the image of St.Micheal.

Walking across the road by the bridges and overlooking the river of Seine, is the Notre Dame.

Speed boats can be seen along the river.

As we reached the outside of Notre Dame, within sight you're able to see this shop and also a beautiful garden before entering the Catholic gothic church.

Notre Dame is famous for it's finest French Gothic architecture and the naturalism of its sculptures and stained glass are in contrast with the earlier Roman architecture. It was completed back in 1345.

Visitors are allowed to enter the church for free and the view inside is amazingly breathtaking. As a catholic myself, upon entering I was so amazed and fascinated by the church it got me carried away. I mean for us back here, the churches are just normal building with less architectural details been put unto it , the most you can get is just the glass windows and probably the altar that has a similar touch to the churches in France but other than that, the building architectural is nothing compared to churches in France.

This is actually a candle holder, antique ones and it looked like some sort of decoration thing. Well at least that was what I first thought when I saw it.

There were also a lot of different small prayer rooms inside the churches, surrounding the main altar. Each and every prayer room is for different Saints, Mother Mary, Jesus and the father himself. There were at least 10 of them each with their own chairs and altars for praying.

Anyone is free to buy a candle as donation to the church and you can light it up for your personal prayers.

And you can also purchase souvenirs inside the church. Just walk towards the left upon entering the church. There is a special souvenir that I've collected when I was there and few other places whereby one can only get it from the place itself when you visit it. Picture on this will be shown next time :)

Paris, The City of Love - La Tour Eiffel

Paris, so here we are.

Basically, these was the queue while waiting for our luggage when we landed at Paris's Charles De Gaulle Airport.

And amazingly, they only have one lane for us to claim our luggage, which explains why you see so many people queuing here while waiting for their luggages. However, it didn't took us long. How efficient it was.

Upon departing the baggage claim area, we were welcomed by our French tour guides. Their job was just to make sure all of us got into the right bus, and then drop us off our hotel. While in the bus, they briefed us about Paris.. everyone was too busy looking at the beautiful sceneries to listen anyways. It was pouring when we reached the hotel but later on it stopped, luckily or else a day will be wasted, even though it was just half a day.

Upon checking in and settling down, we decided to head straight to the Eiffel Tower, since its open till night time, we figured it was a good time to see the Eiffel Tower during sunset :) so we took the train, and amazingly, each train station has this really tiny yet auto-open doors, so classic looking yet so modern.

In case you're wondering, it is always cheaper to buy the train tickets in 10 instead of 1 at a time. Each ticket will cost you about euro 1+ if you buy it individually. What amazes me was, each ticket can get you very far, like you can use one ticket for few places instead of one station only and it saves up so much time and money.Oh, sometimes, well quite often you can see the locals with their own "jumping" skills, they can just get through without buying ticket and it seems like a norm here :/ no one really cares anyway.

Took this shot while we're inside one of their oldest, slowest yet still way faster than KTM in Malaysia train. It is a very old vintage train, with no air con actually, just half opened window but it was winter, so it makes no difference. This train apparently has 2 levels, and it is not crowded at all. I'm really impressed with how efficient is their transportation system is. Not only you don't have to wait like half an hour minimum for a train, their's came almost every 10-15 minutes. I experienced taking at least 3 different types of trains there, none of them fail me. Of course, their trains were not pack, at times it was but it won't be as bad as those you get in Malaysia. However, one thing you will want to be reminded at all times, wherever you are in Paris is to beware of pickpockets. Everyone will tell you that, but more stories about that later.

and here we are, to visit the Eiffel Tower. We reached around evening time. First glance at it was, it gave me the impression of " Oh, we're here already? " HAHA I know right. I was actually busy looking at the merry-go-round across the busy road, and didn't realize that we reached our destination. When we reached, the Eiffel Tower was not lighted up yet, it was still the normal brown color steel building you see everyday and the picture above was when we lingered around for about an hour plus and it started lighted up. In my opinion, even though it was lighted up, it is not the best sight yet. Not until, the next 15 minutes..when..

The view from below the tower, actually was standing near the center to capture this shot. Standing in the middle gives you a square view and I prefer this over the middle view. See how much details did the French put in order to built this tower. I love how everything looked so fine and firm.

With the few people I've hanging around with for 2 weeks when we're in France. The group just gets larger and larger and it was fun like that :) we did not went up to the Eiffel tower on the first day but only went there another day during a second trip. Pictures on that later, the view was amazing.

See the four of us trying to take the center view of the Eiffel tower above us, fail attempt but its still a picture anyways. Everyone with different expressions and the face of "Oh we're in Paris already?" Look that cup of tea cup is actually a Mulled wine - which is red wine combined with spices such as cinnamon and served warm. It was normally consumed during Christmas and Halloween. It costs about 4 euros? Which is counted very cheap already, normally it costs about 8 euros for a glass and the currency differences will just kill you. It is a must try, so smooth. warm and yet the cinnamon will just make you crave for more. You are able to get it at the kiosk next to the official souvenir shop of Eiffel tower with a very short queue.

Few among all the crazy yet sporting guy friends that I have, bunch that loves food and touring with them was good cause these chefs, 2 of them on the left came to France for training previously and they brought us around so we won't get lost and gave us lots of ideas and of course recommendations on food. Oh this got worst especially when we're in Toulouse. Toulouse has the best food stuffs in my opinion. More on that later.

After the Eiffel tower, we walked to a place like 3-5 blocks behind from where we were, and found this shop for our dinner. Everyone was famished as we had enough of breakfasts through out our entire journey to France. Thus we settled here, but there were not many pictures from here simply because we were not allowed to take pictures of anything here. So much for giving them more than 10 euros of tips after that :/ However, the food was just moderately nice. We had wines too because it was cheap and it was really cold that night. I didn't really enjoy it because I was expecting more :P that's why I still prefer Toulouse's food over others.

After dinner, we walked out and then basically the entire streets looked like this. Somehow I love it, so quiet, yet its a pretty sight. Nothing fancy but just a fun time walking around exploring places with your friends, chit-chatting while enjoying the cold breeze till we landed at a small supermarket to buy water supplies. Evian was really cheap there, like 1 euro or sometimes lesser for 1500ml. In Malaysia, it'll cost you bomb to be drinking that. What's worst, using it to wash your hands in Paris :D

and on our way back home, we spotted this. This was when I really fell in love with the Eiffel tower. When it was actually, lighted up and blinking with diamond lights all around it. You will only see this hourly, and it only lasts about 5-10 minutes each time. Oh, how pretty is she !

Dubai, UAE - The City Of Gold

Finally, the time has come to blog about my trip to France for 2 weeks. It was a very good trip indeed. I enjoyed myself, and it has opened my eyes to see another side of the world with greater knowledge as what I've gained from this awesome experience. Not to mention, this is my first time travelling entirely with my university friends, I usually travel with my family :D and it's for the longest time ever. Thus, it bonded everyone of us closer as we spent 2 weeks together doing everything, together :P

So where did I landed on during these 2 weeks?

Dubai-Paris-Toulouse-Andorre-Foix

Basically, I'm just gonna start of this post from the moment when we're on the plane from KLIA first. For starters, we boarded the Emirates during this entire trip, and it was my first time flying with Emirates. We had this 7 hours of journey basically just sleeping as it was really late, and during this entire journey we were served like breakfast and snacks twice before landing at Dubai. I love how Emirates are so creative with their menus, they always have something for you to choose from and its a whole variety , and it always comes with a lot of side stuffs, like cereals, chocolate cakes, to sum it up its portions are always huge. Oh, we had like 4 meals throughout the 14 hours journey, minus the transit time in Dubai, and everything is just breakfast! So sick of breakfast by then. Coming home is another 14 hours journey excluding transits, but yet we had another 4 meals of dinner :/

Us all smile when we just boarded the plane.

Finding seats , well 300+ of us students boarded the plane and we were broke down into 3 big groups flying different days. Mine's the first batch.

Saw this once we landed after we enter the boarding gate before departing for Charles De Gaulle, Paris. Amazingly, its all in Arabian :/

This was at 6am in the morning, look at the amount of people and shopping at this hour. Oh, Dubai airport is the world's best duty free shopping hub. In case you're wondering, their currency is just 5 cents different compared to ours, and their things is not cheaper :/ IMO.

Well, maybe only gadgets but definitely not food. Why do I say this?On our way of transiting back from Dubai, I had a sandwich which cost me RM35, and its just a simple baguette like sandwich :/ but mine has salmon and such, so it's still okay I guessed but it's really not what I would recommend because its not really nice :P got no pictures of it and I forgot whats the name of the shop already :/ we had like 3 of it and it costs about RM100!

This was before we actually realized that Emirates passengers get to eat for free in their lounge and its a FOC buffet!

They have a lot of these shining glowing jars on sale for decoration purpose :/

Everyone is waiting to enter the boarding gate, the place just nice. One of the many nice airports I've ever been to :) But it's so hard to move around from one end to another end because its not wide but long type of airport :/

This was inside the boarding gate, got to love the design of the ceiling! and of course, we boarded the world's most advanced aircraft in the sky, A380 to Paris and it was like, 2 floors and was really spacious compared to the first plane. With better facilities of course to survive another 7 hours of torture after all the waiting.

A New Week, More Challenges Ahead.

Hello there peeps,

just a short update before the real super long update about my France trip.

Well,

it's been a week since I got back from France and basically all I did this entire week is

unpack, pack, clean, procrastinate,upload some photos ( a lot more to go) ,clean ( even though its not really done yet) , and solving the major headache since I got home.

The maintenance of this stupid apartment.

Finally after a week everything is okay now and..

I would love to blog more but I don't think I should considering that I have more important things to do now,

which I have yet to start on,

so I should really focus on that and slowly take my time to update this blog.

Classes are resuming tomorrow! 56 more days to go, 56 more days of stress!

A Little Bit Of Everything...

The original Valentine's Day has just went by a few days ago, but as for the Chinese's version of Valentine's Day where they actually throw oranges into the sea ..

yadayada, you know the drill..

I've actually wondered, do people actually pick them up?

I'm referring to people in Malaysia, since the tradition started in China I bet they do collect it..

but in Malaysia it is always a whole different thing.

As for me , Valentine's Day has always been just another normal occasion spent with friends (:

this year's was a sad one as I was totally busy spending time with my friends doing assignments and

a dear close uncle of mine has passed away on that day itself. May He Rest In Peace now.

Thus this valentine's day has been really hard on me, and of course to my families too.

Well, apparently the Chinese also believed that the last day of Chinese New Year is the Chinese Valentine's Day.

Which leads to a Chinese dinner with Leslie & Mary at my current favorite Chinese restaurant nearby our place, Kong Sai.

I've been there quite often but realized I have never blog anything about this wonderful restaurant.

But, that night we started ordering and had a little bit too much of everything,

took us a while to finish everything, but as usual overall food was good and reasonable for 3 person.

That fish, is seriously for 5! not for 3!

and the soup was amazingly good as usual,

Lotus root and peanut soup , always reminds me of home.

By the time we finished the dishes we already have hard time drinking that 2 bowls of soup :/

But, I really did enjoyed dinner that night.

Besides that,

I also noticed that I have way too much food pictures in my folder which I have yet to upload :/

Partly it is also because one of my assignment now requires me to take pictures of everything I eat,

thus I have a lot of pending food pictures from everywhere and thinking if I should upload them..

but for starters, hmm...

the deliciously cushion soft pineapple tart which is famous in Taipei from Denise and

Home made macaroons by my classmate.

I seriously can't wait to try the macaroons in France. Hope I get the chance to.

which leads to my coming trip on Monday,

I'll be flying off to Dubai on Monday and then France (:

Will be away for sometime, until I'm back,

I will miss my family, and him (:

my super-uber tired going to collapse soon face and his usual hyper face.

My Rabbit Year Celebration.

Again,

it has been almost a week since my last post!

Was really busy with my assignments and I'm glad all the reading paid off.

Yesterday had my economics presentation and my lecturer's expectation was really high this time.

After our presentation she said my group was really good and that she's impressed,

and we have also set a new standard of work for the other groups in the future. Teehee, good luck!

And that means,

I have to start cracking head for my Dissertation which I've been saying I needed to start doing but just couldn't find the time to do so :( sigh.

Anyways,

I'm just going to update what happened during Chinese New Year this year because I have limited time.

This year's Chinese New Year was just back to how it was 3-4 years ago I guess.

Long gone the days, since my house actually have open house, it's getting tiring for my mum.

So she decided not to held an open house anymore and then our new years was spent overseas, or in Sandakan.

Last year I was at Beijing with my family, how fast time flies :/

This year's was spent back at Sandakan,

uncle's place, went there for 4 days 3 nights,

and it was raining cats and dogs, floods everywhere!

First night's dinner, got to love that herbal chicken :D so tasty.

checked into D'Northstar Hotel and realized that it was a very good place to stay at.

Just newly opened, about a week before we were there and it was really nice.

The room was big enough and everything inside was of course still new and was modern looking.

I did not take pictures of the room in general though.

The staffs were all friendly, every time they see you coming at the door or before you leave they'll all greet you.

Even those at the front desks,

and there's once I came back to the hotel with my dad

and it was pouring heavily, we did not have an umbrella with us,

the bell man saw me and ran after me to escort with an umbrella to the car , very attentive staff!

had our tea break before uncle's open house on the 3rd day we're there

@ Brew Cottage, located at Prime Square, just behind the hotel we stayed at.

Awesome food and beverages! at really reasonable price!

When we saw the bill, we all couldn't believe the price,

it was only RM50+ for all , and to top it off , no tax at all!

Ordered 2 glasses of Hot Chocolate, 1 Apple latte , 1 Nut Cocoa (MUST TRY!), 1 Ice blended Passionfruit , 1 plate of cocktail sausages with crumbs , 1 bolognese spaghetti and Beef burger set

Everything was good, seriously. Even the owner was being very nice, came talking to us and personally stood by the door to greet us goodbye even when the shop was packed.

I will and must go back there next time!

Hello everyone!

Happy Chinese New Year,

It's been a while since I've last updated my blog because I was caught up with a lot of activities in between

since it's the Chinese New Year holidays that I was back home for more than a week plus,

and going outstation.

Lots to do during the holidays and now I'm finally back.

Basically,

today is like the last day to the first week of my resumed classes.

Anyways,

got home a week + ago and finally got to open my long awaited parcel!

It was there since a month ago, but couldn't get it in time cause I left on the day it arrived my house! :(

It's my x'mas gift from him (:

I love it and I've been contemplating whether to get one for a while now,
he kept telling me not to but in the end it came as a x'mas gift surprise :)

Luk Yu Tea House StarHill Gallery

Last weekend,

Leslie and Mary accompanied me down to Bukit Bintang area because I wanted to shop around that area,

so before our shopping journey, we headed to Starhill Gallery for our late lunch + tea session.

Chose this particular place after Loh recommended me the night before,

well I wanted to try the other places out too but I shall leave that for next time.

True enough,

they have this amazing deal for certain dishes at 3-6pm everyday,

which cost only RM3.6 per plate,

and normally will cost you about RM9 and above.

However, what we had here was not entirely RM3.60 each,

some were from the ala carte menu,

and we actually ordered more than this but they didn't have what we wanted :(

Anyways just for testers,

we had these...

Not in order of the pictures though, well I personally will recommend the Baked yam puff , Century Egg Roll, Lotus Pancake , Kam Heong Clams , Mixberries Ice Tea as their best dishes that I've had.

As for the Sweet & Sour You Tiao its actually " yao cha guai " but cooked with sweet and sour sauce, you know the typical sweet and sour sauce for fish ? yeah it tasted like that. Something different I may say.

And I would say their seafood was one of the freshest you can get in KL,

I mean you paid for the price, so it should be worth the money and of course it comes with quality and the ambiance, a different dining experience.

Well our total bill came as MYR 80+ including tax.

That's how the shop look like , very oriental like dining area.

Anyways, its worth the try but next time I'm there I wanna try something else (:

Woo, so it's been a while since I actually updated again.

I'm thinking that I might update my blog a little bit more, besides this later if I have the time.

I've been out pretty often lately during weekends, with Leslie and Mary.

Basically, we're just doing a little shoppings around the malls here and back in kl.

this pics was 2 weeks back I guess, gosh I'm craving for Nandos.

Oh yeah I've managed to met up with Loh and Kelvin two days back,

though it was just a short night having dinner and visiting the old place - Jaafar later on,

we had a great time catching up, well since everyone is pretty busy now.

I heard some rubbish stories from one of them too about the negative rumors that was spread by someone idiotic to strangers & strangers spread to other strangers, that's how sucky it is.

*Says: long gone to your own dramas boy.

* Now I realised, didn't take pictures with them for some time now!

Food Dates.

The continuation of my first week of 2011 was,

still hanging out with the same people which we had Korean Food for dinner, unexpectedly.

Supposed to just eat something light, instead we went and check out this new place - Little Korea

and it wasn't bad at all!

From service, to food preparation and presentation, everything was real good.

Of course, it comes with a price also.

Anyways, this place is more famous for its BBQ stuffs, which I want to try someday!

Due to having cold for days now, have to save it for another day instead.

Oh well, good things always comes to those who wait ! so Patience!

Anyways,

we got a little excited while ordering and end up with a feast.

We had that big bowl of Bul Goki ( for 2 person , but I think its for 4 person instead :/ )

See that last picture? that is actually after they served each of us a bowl, the extras.

and its tad pricey too cause of the waiter, cooked it in front of us, and the meat is uber tender and fresh.

Ordered Dol Sot Bi Bim Bab ( upper right end picture ) - Rice in Hot Stone Bowl, with minced pork , egg and mixed veggies ( RM 20 )

1 bowl of Gal Bi Tang - Beef Rib Soup ( RM 20 )

The ribs are awfully fresh, just chew on the meat and you can easily get a clean cut off the bones.

One thing special with the soup is, they actually boiled it with ginseng and leeks in it ( notice bottom left end picture)

oh and another dish that I just noticed I forgot to put up,

Hae Mool Pa Jeon - Seafood Pancake ( RM 25 )

and wanna know the surprising fact of this shop? A bowl of rice cost you RM5!

Easily our bill costs RM152 but it was worth it, considering the portion, fresh food and good service.

I mean, I've been to so many restaurants which serves food around this price range but one with all the good stuffs is really rare :D

the next day was spent at Midvalley,

in order to fulfill our craving for Thai food,

came back to Rak Thai for brunch.

This trip back to Rak Thai is kinda disappointing,

the food we ordered were just so-so compared to the previous times.

Mine was the most disappointing one of all, I forgot whats mine called,

but its basically fried noodle with tons of green and red chilies + minced chicken and veges.

It killed me for a moment there, sweat while eating + worsen my flu.

I did not eat even 1/4 of the whole thing.

Really terrible, I will never order it anymore.

Mary ordered mango chicken chop with rice and Leslie's was the BBQ chicken that I had last time.

The desserts was awesome though, especially that red water chestnut with jackfruit :D

and then I got myself a new toy lens at Gardens,

Leslie became my first model, heheheh! :P

First week of 2011!

Spent my first week of new year,

well the night before coming back to KL spent my night having dinner with my parents at Rasa Nyonya

Its been a while since I've been there,
I remembered my parents used to brought us there almost every weekend few years back.

We had the local Nyonya dishes and everything still tastes the same as before.

The fish is always fresh, and that night I tried out their recommended Sago Melaka dessert,

with chucks of papaya and nata de coco and jelly base, too bad it was too sweet to my liking.

After shopping a while at Tong Hing, I then headed to @tmosphere to catch up with my high school mates who came back from UK and also who is now a raising blogger,
who started out blogging back in Form 4?
If I remembered correctly :P

Well, this few days back, I had my classes resumed.

5 more months of studies to be exact, which will pass by really fast.

Especially when I only have 3 days of classes a week, not to say I'm very free,
it means that I have more workload to do :(

So far I'm kinda enjoying my classes, but I knew it won't be easy either.

Currently, I'm really stressed out because I have so much things to worry about for these 5 months.

Anyways, I met up with Loh for dinner few days back.

Poor guy now is really sick, and he just came back from New Zealand.

Then we went to buy lingerie for his girlfriend, because he was too shy to go alone :P

last 30 minutes before pyramid closes, this is what he decided to get,
roughly on his mind he had this idea anyway.

Then, two nights back it was a laid-back Friday.

Technically, it always has been.

Spent the night hanging out with Mary and Leslie again,

it's been a while so we headed to Asia Cafe for dinner.

We had a lot of food :/ each one of us end up ordering one extra side dishes,

these are just a few. Amazing how we can eat so much :/

and then we went to McDonalds for supper.

Time passed by so quickly when you're enjoying, just chit-chatting away :)

Well, gotta go meet them up again now.

Recap of the holidays!

While everyone is busy doing a recap for what happened this entire year,

I am just gonna do a quick recap of the more happening things that happened for the past one week :)

Basically, it was on Christmas night,

we were invited to dad's friend's Christmas open house since we were going to have a planned family dinner the next day, thus we all decided to attend the party.

Apparently, it was not too bad :)

That night a lot happened.

We had really delicious traditional christmas dinner prepared by a chef who worked at various hotels

before such as Palace Hotel, Sutera Harbour and Shangri-La.

Currently, the chef is working for Tong Hing thus the food prepared was really, up to expectation.

Food like grilled lamb, turkey, mashed, pastas, cakes, red wines and etcs, the usuals.

Later on, santa made its appearance on a motorcycle and everyone was suprised especially the kids,

they actually ran to him to get their presents it was so funny.

Also, that night I learnt a new card game, called Crazy Fish War :p

A card that my sis bought and it was simpler than Monopoly Deal but easy to play with so we played it to spend the night.

The next day was spent at a new restaurant that we tried out, Sailor's Cafe and it was our first time there.

I've heard of a few recommendations online and also from friends and relatives,

thus decided to try it out in order to celebrate our family Christmas dinner and my parent's (early) anniversary as we all won't be here.

The ambiance of the entire restaurant was really cosy, with a huge christmas tree decorated using teddy bears, pictures of the owner( ex sailor) journey to a lot of places and also a gift shop so you can actually buy your last minute gifts there :)

Apparently this shop was opened only 4 months + ago as off today, it's doing quite well,

thank god for early reservations, it was fully booked that night and a lot of people couldn't get their table and left instead.

Our food which tasted not bad at all,

pastas, fries,lamb shoulders, steak, ostrich burger, cajun chicken with rice

everything was not bad ;)

and priced reasonably.

Drinks - Fresh juices , Root Bear Float and

Lychee something ;P

After dinner, we dropped by Boutique Cupcakes so I could take my pre-ordered cupcakes for dessert and also it was a surprise for my parents.

Decorated the dining table and everything, parents were really surprised and they looked really happy that night.

Look at the presentations, awesome no? :)

After two days of having western food for dinner, we decided to go for seafood dinner the next day instead of Little Italy,

Thus we went to our favourite seafood restaurant which is the Gaya Sport Restaurant and ordered the few usual dishes.
It was my first time trying their Tom Yam steam fish and it was different than I thought it was.
The herbs made the fish tasted really fragrant and yet its not spicy :)

and lastly,

thats the awesome fried dumplings that we had during dinner after mass !

it was real good ;)

So I was supposed to blog about this like a week ago,

but I can't help it, I've been busy going out spending time with the family!

Especially since my sis was back for almost a week, we practically spent everyday out shopping and eating.

Anyways, it was Happy Belated Christmas to everyone now, soon it'll be the New Year eve tomorrow.

Thus, my goal now is to start blogging about everything and finish it possibly by tomorrow,

before New Year comes and starting a new year!

Thus comes the blog spam, but please bear with me :)

Approximately 2 weeks ago, my mum and I was invited to the opening of Esprit at Suria Sabah.

Thus we went and have a look at the new shop there, there were a lot more choices of clothes compared to the other outlets, which leads to me getting myself a new dress for Chinese New Year :) early I know but it was something different, laces and all. Not exactly priced at its best though but heck, since it was the opening,

we're entitled for extra 25% on top of 10% off member's discount just for that night.

well if you know me well enough, you'll notice that 70% of the clothes I'm wearing everyday is from this shop,

and like some of you have always commented and asked where did I get my clothes from, its from Esprit :)

Anyways, that night, there was a fashion show for their newest clothes this season,

there were some winter jackets fashion because its winter season now, like duhhh.. and a few casual wears which in my opinion, some were really pretty and some was just plain normal.

and recently, dad got me a new point to shoot camera, as we got a really great deal off a camera fair held 3 weeks ago, and its time because DSLR is too heavy to carry around for my daily use and to fix the stabilizer issue for my sony camera would cost me at least RM400, if its fixable thus getting this camera seems like the wiser thing to do now.

If you haven't notice, pictures from the few previous posts was actually taken with this camera,

and so far I'm loving what it can do.

Totally loving it !

exactly this same color and one of its new feature was it comes with the fish eye lens ,

which I've yet to try, will try it on pretty soon I guess :)

So how's holidays going on for you guys?

Mine is good around this time, been spending a lot of time with the family, it means a lot because...etcs * don't insert sad stuffs.

glad that my friends overseas are enjoying themselves too.

Missing people who are everywhere around the world too,

Canada, Italy,Switzerland,New Zealand, UK

Why can't you guys come back this year but next year? :(

This post is supposed to be about Nyonya House.

A newly opened Nyonya Restaurant at 1Borneo , if I'm not mistaken,

the owner is a Malaccan.

The whole restaurant theme is focusing on Malacca's peranakan homes.

Basically you can get Nyonya dishes and local dishes here, to top everything with awesome desserts and kuih muih.

Awesome Melaka Ice Kacang that tasted good for dessert RM6!

BBQ Stingray - RM18

This tasted as good too!

An authentic Nyonya dish recommended by the waiter.

It's called Jiu Hoo Char (RM10)

A type of veg, mixed with carrot, cuttlefish and chicken and mushrooms.

It's something different I may say because the cuttlefish brings out the taste of the dish and the vege is fresh :)

Lastly, tried the one and only crab dish in this restaurant.

The Pineapple Flower Crab (RM22 for medium)

So you're tired with butter crab / tomato base crab, this is the next option you should go for.

Personally, this one taste better than any tomato base crab that I dislike.

It consists of chunks of fresh pineapple ( sour ) and the sauce for the dish is naturally sweet so it actually complement the dish.

The crabs were really fresh, making it tastier and the flesh are blended also with the sauce,

eating the sauce = eating crab meat.

ohh la la.

Worth every single penny.

The continuation of my last post from the same outing was,

we headed to Party Play located at Lintas Plaza.

It is actually a newly opened lifestyle cafe in town.

So I heard, the chef here is from Singapore.

The whole shop's design has a theme too, very modern and simple, heck its nice.

Initially, this is the place we wanted to sit down and hang out but then when we got here,

it's already almost 11pm and the shop kinda have this kitchen close at 11pm policy and the shop closes at 12am.

I think that their food and beverages pricing is at mid-range, but worth the try!

I asked the waitress to recommend what are their signature drinks there and she recommended me their milkshake. (RM8 per glass)

So I decided to try out their chocolate milkshake,

which tasted like blended Desa chocolate milk to me.

Bev ordered banana milkshake.

Yes they do have varieties for you to choose from.

and one thing I actually liked in this shop is their menu.

everything looks so unique and creative,

too bad I did not take any picture of it.

As for food we only ordered a mushroom soup (RM10) ,

just for the sake of trying because I was already so full from dinner + cupcakes + tea and milkshake!

I heard what was recommended by people was their fish and chips.

Shall try it out someday : D

here it is, not disappointing at all :)

I may add that the place here is quite cosy, but personally not a suitable place to study or things like that.

It was kinda noisy that night.

Boutique Cupcakes - "their cupcakes made me smile" ;)

Few days back, I went out with Beverly since we've not meet each other for a while.

And since we were close friends since high school, every holidays is like a mandatory to meet.

The latest update currently is that, she's working at the newest cupcake shop in town, its the Boutique Cupcake.

So that night, she decided to take me there for a visit,

since she needed to do some preparation for the cupcakes the client ordered,

thus we ended up here.

The good side of this is that, I met a lot of new faces there :) very friendly people.

And got to celebrate a stranger's birthday the first time of meeting him,

along with the rest of the staffs and bosses there of course.

Well one of the boss was a friend of mine that I knew through Bev, and then I met another boss who actually handles the productions side, they were really nice and friendly :)

the bosses praised me for my effort of helping Bev out, and treated me for free tea with mixtures of chamomile, rose, peppermint , lavender all in one teapot and a cupcake. How nice of them?

Tried out the carrot walnut cupcake and it was not bad, yummy :)

It's texture is different from the cupcakes I've tasted before.

It's more moist and soft compared the others because its normally baked fresh in the morning.

The plus point will be, if you think this cake is sweet, it's not at all. Less sugar = Healthy!

I wished I could have taste more flavors that were offered there, but it was after dinner and I was so full from dinner that time, taking one cupcake is giving me hard time already. Will be back there someday definitely!

Gah , I miss blogging so so much that,

I have so much to blog about,

but due to my internet being down,

I couldn't blog and it seriously upsets me.

So now,

it's back up and faster :)

with wifi I am all happy again! hehe

thus comes the belated blog post of my recent family trip to Kundasang.

It was an unplanned trip considering we just decided to go up two days before,

and after calling up a few hotels that was fully booked due to public holidays,

we settled down at J.Residence for a night.

well currently, this place is on promotion and its still very new.

MYR80 nett per night,

but since it was a public holiday so it was MYR138 nett per night,

without ANY facilities other than room.

Not even a place to eat, but they do have a barbeque pit and a place for rent.
Situated nearby just right outside is a Malay style restaurant I guess.

It was our first time there, normally we settle down at Pine Resort/ Mesilau.

Dad found out about this place through a flyer placed at the airport.

they even have the layout of the rooms available,

and we chose the one with the best view of course.

The weather there was awesome, considering KL was friggin warm for the past few months,

and at night it wasn't too chilly :/ maybe because of the whiskies and bucket of KFCs that we had for the night.

Basically we just enjoyed a peaceful night, relaxing there while chit-chatting the night away.

Most of all, I love how the sun made every picture looked nice :)

Last friday night,

after resting and done with my packing,

I headed out with Denise for dinner at a place called

Souled Out Restaurant and Bar.

Apparently,

this place wasn't what I expect it to be.

The ambiance I mean, its so different.

Was expecting fully air-con place, and live bands and etcs,

but turns out it has 70% of its restaurant open air, and no live band but DJ is around to spice things up.

But I really liked it,

because the food was up to my expectations, and the beverages are unique in its own ways.

the only downside to it was,

there was a lot of parties going on that night.

like 3-4 huge crowds which 2 was just next to our table.

We sat near the DJ and the crowds was making tons of noise it gets so irritating

until they closed the door then everything was fine again.

and the management is actually the same management as 7atenine( not sure about the 7atenine that I visited in SG before but definitely is the same as the KL ones )

I love year end holidays.

Yes, back at KK since yesterday noon :)

So far, its good.

Church this morning and then the rained just stopped.

Exams was over,

overall I think it was quite okay?

I seriously don't know but let's just hope for the best.

Anyways,

Spent last sunday with Mary at Pavillion and Fahrenheit 88 shopping,

and we took some awesome christmas decoration pictures,

it was so beautiful :)

And its time for me to go out shopping with the fam.

Nerd Mode Switch On.

My being-a-nerd mode is on since finals is on from tomorrow onwards till Thursday.

Been procrastinating a lot,

Even if its study week for a week, its more like holiday week instead.

and now I'm supposed to cramp what I've learnt for 14 weeks into this paper.

I don't know why,

I am not worried yet,

I am not panic or anything like that.

No idea why.

Worst of all, at some points when I was revising,

I felt like everything is so easy :/ and I tend to just slack and forget about it.
But, in fact, its not easy at all. Sigh.

Hopefully I just don't screw the papers.

State of The Art KL

Well, approximately a week ago,

I went to an event that I was introduced to by Sio Sen during one of our assignment discussion.

She was telling me how badly she wanted to go to the event because she wanted to see, Paul Moss.

And then, she was saying she is sad because she couldn't get the ticket and just when we

clicked the "refresh" button , there was about 189 free tickets up for grab!

so there we go, signing up for an event that I myself wasn't sure what to expect.

Nevertheless,

I never regret a single bit for going there.

At first I was kinda skeptical, and wondering if I should go,

but now I'm just so glad I went :)

Managed to get the the front line during the event, and the crowd keeps getting more and more people.

Well because the celebrities made everything awesome.

They gave their special advices on the industry,

how to go and where to go about in the real world.

Of course with talent shows in between,

with invited talented people all over Malaysia,

everyone had a blast there

jokes and humors,

Today,

I finally tasted, Udon.

A seriously, delicious Udon with a bunch of classmates at a place called, Sanuki Udon.

Mind you, I know I always eat japanese food but I never eat anything else, but rice.

Udon is a Japanese term for Noodles, and 70% of the time I will go for rice instead.

This place is located amazingly far, from our university, but since we have like 4 hours break, we end up here.

It is located at Taman Bukit Desa.

At first,

this place looks kinda old for a Japanese restaurant but then the food was amazingly good.

the udon is special as it is freshly made by the Japanese chef itself and when you taste it,

you can really tell the difference, really smooth, and easy to chew on.

Certainly the price was not what I've expected too.

It was rather cheap, from a minimum price of RM5- and maximum RM8 ?

and you can get any extra toppings for RM1-RM2 each,

bet if its in the shopping malls you won't even get these prices.

Curry Udon is what I ordered, and it tasted really good , not spicy at all :)

Past pictures from Simon's Birthday party at Piccadilly.

Yesterday I was out with my cousin doing my phone stuffs and

we spent our remaining time trying out 2 newly opened restaurants at Sunway Pyramid.

It was Ninja Joe,

a Japanese fast food which serves pork burgers !

The pork patty was very tender indeed, very easy in the mouth,

you can't even fill it when you're biting it.

Their burger size however was really small,

probably size of a doughnut at RM5.50 each, or you can order up to 6 at one go at RM23.90,

with 6 different flavors for one each ;D

I had The Big Boss instead,

normal size burger, with normal pork patty,

and inside there's egg.

I asked for bacon and cheese which is an additional of RM1 each

but they ran out of bacon :(

Ordered a side dish called Shuriken ,

its actually potato and pork meat nugget,

imo it was delicious but it would be better if it has lesser oil and, its crunchier like normal nugget.

After that we met up with another cousin of mine whom I have not met for more than 10 years.

She's a future lawyer, and she looked so so so different from the last time I met her.

We decided to watch Megamind 3D then, thus we bought our movie ticket and then head to

the Toilet Bowl Restaurant, which actually is just right next to Ninja Joe.

They both had Banana split and I had Fruit Mix.

Mine was actually presented with 4 little chocolate bear biscuits, fresh cut strawberries, chunks of mangoes , a scoop of vanilla ice cream with shaved ice.

I seriously felt so happy eating it, like a kid.

The banana split was presented with 2 crispy waffles, 3 scoops of ice cream - chocolate, vanilla and strawberry , not to forget , smarties!

The bowl that they used resembled the toiletries or toilet units, ours was presented in a light blue bath tub. Unique, however I think that the overall interior of the restaurant could be better.

Service wise it was a bit bad, as they don't have enough staffs thus it was rather slow.

Aside from that, the food I think it was alright and quite reasonable.

Well,

the movie Megamind was just alright to me.

Nothing really special, though it was funny at some parts.

That concludes my sunday night (:

Pearl of the Orient - Through My Eyes.

Penang that is.

Well I had a 5 days weekend last week due to Deepavali and weekends,

so I couldn't bear to waste that 5 days weekend doing assignments at home.

Thus, comes the random plan of going to Penang ,

along with my cousin and Mary,

we didn't plan anything but everything just happened so fast - it felt like a dream.

I would say its a fruitful trip, considering its just 2 days and 1 night but we did so so much.

so much than what I've expected we will do due to time factor. Needed to come back earlier due to me having an interview for my marketing research on Saturday.

Nevertheless, I'm glad we made it there :)

First stop at Penang was to check in the hotel. A kind man saw us at the bus station and decided to guide us on which place to stay is the best. Initially our plan was to stay at Old Penang Guestshouse situated at Love Lane,

But the man told us that it was a "red light" area, thus we ended up at Oriental Hotel.

We were lucky, situated nearby was the famous Kheng Khee Street, so following the map..

we found the Penang Most Famous TeoChew Chendul !

There were so many people lining up at that time, and we had to eat it by the road side- standing!

I dislike kidney beans, but heck , I wanted to try the best - so I ate it :) haha

As it was drizzling, thank god it didn't rain heavily!

We roamed a bit more, in search of Little India.

On our way, we happened to saw this shop which sells Zhung Zhi or also known as Guo Zhung :D

It instantly attracts me because I have not eaten one for a long long time.

What was surprising is that, this shop was also visited by Jason before.

So it must be good right, even though it was situated at the back lane and there wasn't anyone there.

We decided to order their famous Guo Zhung and Yam Cake - it was pure, heaven..

I reckon, this is what I miss most in Penang :D

Definately, A must try!

Moving on, we headed to Little India since it was Deepavali,

so we expect to see a lot of little indians knick-knacks around.

Saree sold there was at really, really low price - about RM20 and above.

Old buildings, burnt buildings , vintage looking buildings,

reminds me of Melacca and Ipoh.

Then, we visited the Kapitan Keling Mosque which was located nearby.

and we saw this advertisement in front of a pharmacy advertising red wine , seriously.

It's so scary.

there was a shop selling fresh butchered meat.

As I was taking this picture, the butcher smiled at me :D

Indian opened it :/

Saw this really antique style parking ticket machine.

and it still works! Digitally.

Further down the road, as it was getting late, while heading back to our hotel,

this caught our attention.

It's like flour made noodle , tasteless and must be eaten with brown sugar.

Sweet but a bit plain too.

It's okay to try it though , something different :)

At night, we headed to Gurney Drive Hawker Stalls for dinner.

The selections was a lot , but nothing much that caught our attention.

Decided to try their grill fish, my must eat in penang food - oyster omelette and the Penang Char Kuey Teow. The Penang Char Kuey Teow stall had a really long queue to it, and apparently,

it was reviewed by magazines before so we decided to try it.

I find it rather dissapointing though, not as nice as I thought it would be.

After dinner, we headed to Gurney Plaza,

supposedly for dessert because we saw a theme cafe from outside window.

Clinic Cafe - whereby everything, especially the interior of the shop was designed like a clinic,

the hospital beds as the chair and etcs.

Interested to try it out, but it was disappointing as they don't serve any desserts so we move along to search for what Mary recommended as saying the famous, Penang Chicken Wing.

Grilled Chicken Wing,

situated like 15 minutes walk away from the mall.

The chicken wing was RM1.80 each, and the Thigh was RM5 but it was very tender, huge and meaty.

At this point I'm already feeling hungry! AHH.

We headed to Batu Ferringhi after that, for their famous night market.

There were not many stalls as I thought a night market would be,

just a stretch of stalls selling almost the same things, exceptions for the ones nearby Tarbush and The Ship restaurant.

Some of the stalls there have really unique things,

Mary and I end up with really nice decorating lights for only RM20 each.

Whilst the one I bought last time, was RM50 in KK.

Bought a new tee too , cheap cheap tee :)

On the way there, we saw this really nice place, so we decided to visit it again after the night market walk but we didn't know how to tell the cab driver where and what shop was it.

Just remembered the location, since its nearby our hotel, located at Jalan Burma,

so we kinda like guide the cab driver and here we are

A tree house concept restaurant,

with good and reasonably priced food and beverages ,

love the ambiance.

Upon paying the bill, we discovered that this shop was reviewed by a magazine before too.

Lucky us :D

We all slept at 2am that night and woke up at 6.30am to go for Dim Sum at Dim Sum Food Restaurant!

My cousin's friend, whom I just met that morning,

took us here after we told her we heard that this is where we can get the cheapest Dim Sum in town,

We ordered so so much, and in the end,

she paid the bill :/ but I bet what we ordered here maximum is only about RM70

had shark fin soup here too :D

Anyways, after breakfast , we went to the famous Penang Biscuit Factory,

Him Heang to get our supply of this famous biscuit and it was really fresh.

We went around 10am and lucky us its not sold out yet, because we heard that its limited each day and

once its sold out the shop will close right away, especially it was a public holidays too.

but the shop was opened for us ;D real lucky.

Next, we visited the Fort Cornwallis and met up with Francis Light.

Next we went to Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion , or Blue Mansion

entrance fee was RM12 and we had to follow tours to explore this place, and tour are only available at 11am and 1.30pm,

again lucky us we got there in time because we didn't know we must follow tour to visit this place.

The tour took about approximately an hour .

It was a historical mansion , everything inside is about FengShui.

Too bad we can't take any pictures, but everything inside was really antique.

includes the late people's clothings , bed and etcs.

Next up, we headed to the Reclining Buddha Temple.

The name of the temple, Wat Chayamangkalaram was built in 1845 by a Thai Buddhist monk.

We all used the wheel of fortune machine by paying 50 cents and we each got our "readings".

Mine is kinda true, at some point la.

Since it was Deepavali, they have this special event where you purchase this thing,

and then write your name on it or special wishes,

then light it with candles.

After that, Isabella recommended us to try out this famous coconut ice cream, thai style.

It's like a sorbet kinda coconut ice- cream, served with crushed peanuts and nata de coco.

Awesome ;)

Then, since we have extra time to spare,

we continued our journey to the newly opened Hard Rock Hotel!

Saw Micheal Jackson in front of the cafe! :P

After roaming around, we decided to go to Kek Lok Si temple at Air Itam.

also known as Temple of Supreme Bliss.

The largest buddhist temple in Malaysia,

there were a lot of people there as usual,

but we didn't take much pictures though.

I am not a buddhist myself,

but its fun to explore the temples once in a while.

We got there by walking up through a whole street of flea markets,

a definitely different experience than driving right up to the top.

For our late lunch, I had the Penang asam laksa from the nearby market around.

the soup was really asam, and they used sardines and blended it along with the soup.

Something I've not seen before.

Well there's a stall opposite which apparently,

supposed to be more famous but Isabella said it came out in newspaper before they put tissues inside their noodle, eww!

The one that I had tastes just as good, according to her :D

Lastly,

we headed to Penang's largest shopping mall,

Queensbay Mall before heading back to KL.

Got myself this new baby yesterday!

Didn't expect it but I got a really, really good deal for it as I got lucky too :)
Something to cheer me up after the stressful due today marketing research assignment, which was complimented by my lecturer when she checked it, what's even better, we put it in the Safe Assignment and there were 0% plagiarism! * crossing fingers for a good mark now.

After that, I finally have the time to test this new baby out and I'm loving it :) !

I am so glad to finally say,

thank god last week was over.

Had diarrhea along with 2 of my other classmates because we had the same food in Desserts Bar for lunch the other day.

We ordered the Australian Beef Stew and end up with really bad food poisoning.

Complaint and even skipped my supposedly French Oral Roleplay test that was supposed to be the next day,

thank god my lecturer was being considerate after explaining to her so many times,

that she didn't deduct our marks but said we did a good job during our presentation on Friday :)

I attended 3 charity event in my University itself last week.

1st was O.M.G , an event organised by my ex fellow classmates on Thursday.

It was just a simple one , inflatable games and Satay!

Didn't had Satay for ages and the Satay they ordered was from a Kampung, with Lontong,

RM5 for 5 sticks but it was awesome.

Supported my friend's stall by doing this.

A girl from Kenya, named Sabah did this for us.

2nd one was by the Masscom student, it was kinda huge and they managed to pull the crowds especially it was on Friday.

Commfest, with live performances , local celebrities , lots and lots of online blogshop stalls and food stalls,

I literally tried like almost all the foods that was sold there and there were a lot of inflatable games too.

The crowd was so packed , and you can see people running around from time to time because there was an Amazing Race competition going on.

3rd one was Golden Scavenger. I was at University from 6am onwards and then was down at KL - Bukit Nanas Park from 11am until 4pm!

It was my first time there, and I had the chance to climb up the hanging wood trails like I don't know how many times.

It rained too and thus I had a little accident.

The right side of my face actually hit the steel barrier hard when I slipped and I

ended up with bruised thigh and knee , bleeding gum and inner upper mouth tissue cut + a sprained right ankle.

Apparently, it became a very famous news since the participants saw me fell and reported it to the people back in Uni , and everyone started calling to ask how am I.

and worst of all, the news came out from the mouth of people I don't even know,

funny how news can spread so fast even if its from strangers ay.

Nevertheless,

it was fun and boring at the same time while waiting for the teams to arrive.

The event ended with a dinner with my classmates at Italiannes, since we had extra funds to spare and it was an enjoyable experience dining with so many people, our tables were connected like really long table and we occupied the entire bottom floor of Italiannes.

Oh, I really love looking at a table filled with plates and glasswares, not a single space while everyone is eating. Sounds weird, I know :P

So,

finally yesterday out of randomness, I met up with Denise after ages for dinner.

We had a decent dinner at Dragon-I since both of us did not have proper chinese food for a while now

followed by shopping and movie after that.

We caught You Again, it was funny as hell. I really enjoyed it.

Though at some parts it did reminded me of, Jennifer's Body.

Earlier in the afternoon I finally watched The Switch.

I was kinda disappointed because it wasn't as funny as I thought it would be.

Anyways,

its already the 3rd month now (:

amazing how time flies.

Well I've been out during the past weekends with Mary,

and we had Japanese food marathon for no apparent reason at Subang's Sakae Sushi.

Told ourselves that we should like avoid Japanese food for sometime now,

well it looked little at first, and we just had to keep ordering and then ..we end up with..

Tempura,Calamari,Shishamo, SoftShellCrab

and then, we had these too..

Salmon Belly and Chicken something something :/

Food was not bad as usual.

But I think I prefer Sunway's Sakae Sushi better.

I think its the fried stuffs.

We ended up eating these for 2 hours

and came out from Sakae Sushi feeling so bloated after that.

The following week,

we finally settled down at Pasta De Gohan after deciding where to eat and I realised,

Gosh it's Japanese food again!

Just that its Westernish-Japanese food (:

Reminds me of the Japanese shop I went to for pasta in Singapore too,

and this shop has the exact concept, but different brand.

In Singapore, it was owned by Sakae and this is owned by Pasta De Waraku , Singapore.

This is just half of their many many selections in the menu.

Too much selections in fact its kinda hard to choose.

The pasta's price range between RM20+ - RM 40+

This is one of the sides I ordered,

Chicken Mushroom and Bacon risotto.

Taste so so good , I can't have enough of it :X

Mary's main, Carbonara Based Bacon pasta.

I personally don't really like carbonara ,

but she said it was good,

Their bacon was really nice (:

I had a Bacon, Potatoes and Asparagus pasta.

Kinda weird combination I think.

But its not bad. I love how the cheesey taste doesn't make you feel all stuffy and full after eating it.

Brushetta for sides too, they called it toasts instead :/

It's actually cherry, and I HATE cherries :(

Shopped for new shoe and sandal, watched Life As We Know It too.

Starring Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel , I just adore them.

Make such cute couples and of course it was really funny as its a romance-comedy movie.

Other than that,

my days wasn't too bad besides being busy trying to do my event things plus ,

the responds is kinda good now.

our target is 25 teams and we managed to hit 21 teams in a week.

The event is this Saturday.

I actually can't wait for this weekend to come.

Played MapleStory again.

Restarted a new character with a new job after such a long long time.

Things changed so much in there, with more and more cute monsters. Freaking noob seh (:

I will have a French Oral Mid Term tomorrow on Dialogues again.

I hate role plays.

Don't know what to expect actually. No preparation.

Guess I shall go have my dinner now before preparing the French Slides.

I am so effin' tired right now I can just sleep till the next day,

but definitely,

it won't stop me from blogging..

and because I have a CV to update tonight and submit by later,

I must stay up.

Well, at least till I'm done.

So today marks the day,

we finally went all around the university,

promoting Golden Scavenger.

Again,

because I'm in PR.

Had to go to University extremely early,

like 9am,

supposedly French class starts at 1pm!

which end up learning weird French idioms that just doesn't link with whatever it supposed to mean,

and my day only ended at 5.30pm.

Extremely exhausting.

Had 30 of the posters and about 300 flyers distributed everywhere around the school,

and other campuses.

It's kinda a nightmare for me because I've been staring at those things for about a month.

Well I had to design them alone(because no one else seems to know how to do), though I think its ugly.

and then I still have to see it around everywhere in my campus.

I swear I had a dream about the posters when I was asleep last night.

So annoying.

Wait till they hang the banner tomorrow onwards, its even worst :/

and Denise finally got her present and finally completed it.

Oh and I am so in love with the Breadstory in my Uni compared to those at the mall.

It has seriously more varieties, freshly baked products, and reasonably price.

Side note,

the Face to Face noodle shop in Taylor's is very dirty! A lot of flies, but still so many people there,

don't know why.

Wanted to have brunch there this afternoon, but end up in Wong Kwok instead and the service is so damn good.

I can't believe I'm spending like RM15 minimum for food in University everyday now.

Well technically,

when we moved, it was RM 10, and now when all the shops are SLOWLY opening its RM15++!

Golden Scavenger

So the teaser previously is actually for this event.

An event called " Golden Scavenger"

Currently my fellow classmates and I are working on this charity event to help the kids in Bario

and also as part of our assignment.

Why we chose Bario?

Imagine yourself walking to some place ( just a few kms ) and you started complaining,

but the kids in Bario walk 20kms to school everyday, and to go home on the very same day,

another 20kms.

How would you feel?

Aren't we lucky to have public transports or cars to go anywhere now?

But still we're always complaining.

Imagine them.

After walking 40kms a day, they had to stay home the next day just to rest their legs,

and then continue to go to school only on the following day.

Basically,

they can only go to school 3 days a week, unlike us.

Our aim is to donate a minimum of RM3K to them under Taylor's 1Bario community project

in order to provide them a proper hostel in their school where they can stay for 5 days straight

with food provided and only go home during the weekends.

Yes,

they lived in a totally deserted and rural areas in Sarawak.

So basically our event is about a treasure hunt which starts off from Taylor's University,

all the way down to Kuala Lumpur.

The only means of transport is train.

You need to have another 3 partners, that makes the 4 of you.

The team that reaches the last destination,

with all the clues given with the shortest time are entitled to a prize worth RM4K+.

Well, of course the sponsors are from various hotels too so stand a chance to win a holiday trip :O

What you have to do to participate?

1) Gather 4 person in a team!

2) Pay Registration fee of RM160 per group ( contribution to Bario )

3) Come to Taylor's and report yourself on the 30th October at 7am!

I have so much to blog about , that I don't know where to start from.

Well, I'll just try to cut down on the bad stuffs that I encountered like, a week ago involving Jusco.

Aside from that, I still have an issue to deal with the Uni's library.

Other than that, my life has been pretty, hectic and of course,

I needed the breaks too!

I miss posting pictures in this blog,

been keeping a lot of overdue pictures in my blog so I guess I shall start posting some from last week's outing.

last Saturday was spent at TimeSquare with Leslie & Kelly.

We tried out a new food outlet during brunch - ViVo

well I'm not really sure if this shop is still very new or anything like that since all these while it was hidden at ground floor and is not really visible.

Its an American restaurant thats famous for its pizza and panini .

We ordered a Barbeque Chicken Pizza , Grilled Chicken and a Smoked Salmon Speghetti.

As for drinks, we had Mango Delight without cream , Choco Brownies & Mallow and a Cafe Latte.

Everything was so kinda good, satisfactory level , even the price was kinda reasonable.

I remembered our bill came and it was about RM78+ for everything.

I reckon this is one of the few places that has reasonable food pricing with satisfactory level food.

Well, later that evening we wanted to go to Giza but due to unforeseen circumstances,

the cab driver who did not tell us that he didn't know the way end up taking us to Sunway Pyramid.

He was dumb enough and lied to us about Giza being in Pyramid like as if we didn't already know its in Damansara.

So he frankly said he didn't know the place ,we figured there's no point of arguing so end up roamed around pyramid again.

Little did I know, the next day I end up at Pyramid again dealing with some stuffs with Leslie & my cousin.

Seriously, I'm really getting sick of that place because every week I will be there at least 3 times during lunch breaks and weekend it gets so annoying that I would try to avoid going there if I can.

So, this weekend it's different.

Went down to Midvalley, Gardens.

Tried out the open food court at Gardens, apparently they serve a lot of different country cuisines ,

the pineapple fried rice Leslie had.

I had Salmon Teriyaki , no picture though.

and finally from Sentral,

Giza ( and the cab driver still don't know the way until he had to ask us for the direction ).

Well, Giza was a bit disappointing if I may say so.

I would not ever go back there unless for,

1) a place to chill and hang out drinking alcohol.

2) The Supermarket

3) Tao Cuisine

The reason behind this is ,

1) spending RM54 on cabs from Sentral-Giza-Sunway ( With Meter ).

2) No cab stand at all. Called 2 cab companies and both got no cabs to deliver.

End up waiting for a cab further down the road and only to see one after an hour of wait.

3) Nothing to shop or see there as it was just a small mall.

Saw these at the supermarket and I thought it was really cute and chic.

Had dinner at Giza though,

at a place called IpohIpoh.

The sky was so beautiful. Purplish sunset.

I had chicken burger special.

The patty inside is wrapped with an egg served with salad and fried chickens.

It was just nice I guess.

Leslie had this claypot Ipoh noodle.

I tried out the soup, it tasted good :D

next up was the Bak Kut Teh I had this morning for brunch.

It was at a shop nearby my place and it was really yummy.

Black sauce is love.love.love.

With Chili + Cuttlefish as its base.

Looking at the pictures now makes me hungry even though I had it only this morning

What I like most is you can request to have the meat with no fats so it's less fattening.

and of course, today is Sio Sen's birthday - 10.10.10.

Got her this tumblr from Starbucks, she loved it so much that she screamed when she saw it :D

Managed to find time catching up with the guys for our long missed yumcha session at Jaafar.
Chilled till 4+am , so much to catch up on and laughed about.
I miss them already.

Little update about Uni now is,
I watched a very funny French movie that was used to be a "Must See" movie when it came out during my French Class.
I enjoyed it much because it was really hilarious and dumb :S

It's the story of Pierre Brochant who has that game with his friends: every week, they have a mission to invite to their dinner table the dumbest guys they can find and make fun of them. Hence the idiots in the title - though con, in French, is a bit stronger than idiot (and yes idiot is also a French word).

My next training will commence on the 30th of May next year.

Which I will have to start preparing the CV like this week and apply for internships.

Crazy how we have to work super early this time.

The hectic assignments and presentation life is still going on.

Just remembered I have a test going on Tuesday, probably a presentation too ( if I happened to be so "lucky" to get chosen )

Dissertation proposal :(

Lastly,

The event on the 30th of October is giving me headache.

Will update more about it soon I guess.

So far it hasn't been any kinder to me. Well in terms of daily happenings in life.I'm so lazy to blog about what happened yesterday.

Study wise I guessed it wasn't so bad. Though what was supposed to happened last week.

Was now all delayed to this week and more weeks to come. I should be happy, no?

I don't know. Endless pilling stuffs , and of course readings to do.

Was working on a new teaser just now. Currently, just procrastinating away.

Now I'mma head to bed and watch HIMYM while munching on Famous Amos.

Glad that classes starts at 1pm onwards tomorrow. But, I hate the new timetable!

3 continuous days of having class from 8am onwards till 6.30pm?! Just this week. The rest will be better, I hope.

First day of class after 3 weeks of holidays.

1) Finally got confirmation regarding the event designs I did , waiting for the emails for the amendments needed to do plus a whole lot more to do definately. Should be happy or excited about this, but I don't feel it anymore. Getting stressed out because the event is in a month time. A lot of PR stuffs to catch up on!

2) Informed about Dissertation Proposal presentation and submission in 2 weeks time. Will only know mentor by this Friday. * eyes wide open

3) Lots and lots of replacement classes this week! Especially French and Marketing. Ugh. Marketing presentation for assignment 4 this Friday. Can't wait to see the video we did.

4) Got a new group assignment on Revenue Management due in 2 weeks time. Followed by a mid-term exam next week or the week after. It depends.

5) Law case study presentation next week. Yet to discuss on that assignment. Got to rush the others already.

6) Good that Baskin Robins , Famous Amos, Starbucks and Bread Story is opening soon in Lakeside. Seriously, that whole friggin boring building is slowly turning awesome.

7) Period.

8) Had Ayam Penyet with 9 others today, and seriously the chili was the spiciest I've ever tested. The guys were sweating and turned red while eating it. Only the Indonesian girl managed to eat it like as if its water to her and she wasn't even sweating. Only red lips. So amazing.

Well I think that is too much to take on the first day. Filled with assignments and more to come. Looking forward for the better.

Had a little random make-over session with Bev at Bodyshop last Tuesday.

It's been a while since we did random stuffs together.

Really miss these moments ;)

The make-up artist did a good job with our make-over.

and she was very friendly and nice ;D .

Then we headed to Sutera Harbour for our random photoshoot sessions.

Since we did not take pictures together for so long!

Well also to try out the remote control for the slrs and it worked perfectly :D

It's odd how I watch this particular little spot,

that used to bring lots of memories slowly being transform to a - dining area.

I miss home already :(

Hopefully when classes resume,

time will fly faster.
